Voca fall to 0-2 record in Bucharest after nail-biter loss to 3DMAX
After an extremely competitive series against 3DMAX, Voca eventually lost 1-2. Despite having several chances to close the series on map three, the North Americans couldn't get it done. The defeat sends them to the 0-2 pool, where the next loss means elimination.
Voca picked Dust2 to start the series, but started down 0-4. They got three back, but still entered their CT-side with a daunting 3-9 deficit. Despite that, Voca were able to mount a fantastic comeback, dropping only one more round on the way to a 13-10 win to secure their pick.
3DMAX picked Anubis and once again won the first pistol. The first half was back-and-forth, leaving the score tied at 6-6. After another pistol win, 3DMAX had a strong T-side to take their pick 13-8, forcing a decider.
Ancient was the third map, and Voca finally got a strong start, putting 3DMAX down 0-5. The French fought back, but still trailed 5-7 at the end of the first half. Voca got the second pistol and managed to get four match points, but couldn't win any, sending the game to overtime. After some round trading, Voca had another match point, but lost it again to reach double overtime. There, 3DMAX finally got it over the line to close the map 19-16.
Even in the loss, Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly had a great performance. He ended the series with nearly 80 ADR, 59 kills, and 16 multikill rounds.
