NRG start Bucharest with a clean 2-0 over weakened Voca
NRG took down Voca convincingly in the first round of PGL Bucharest 2026. While NRG were certainly favored, the match was even less competitive due to Voca missing Gage "Infinite" Green due to documentation issues. Controversially, recently unbanned matchfixer Sebastian "retchy" Tropiano stood in.
The series began on Voca's pick of Mirage. NRG had a strong 4-0 start before Voca got two rounds back. NRG won out the rest of the half, taking a dominant 10-2 lead. Though Voca won the pistol and conversion, NRG quickly closed it out 13-4.
NRG's pick was Inferno, and it was just as comfortable. After winning the first nine rounds in a row, Voca finally got on the board in round ten. NRG still ended the half leading 11-1. Voca got another pistol and conversion, but once again, NRG closed it out fast, 13-3.
All players had solid performances, but Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek stood out with a stunning 40-16 K/D and 111 ADR.
Both teams will play again tomorrow at 03:00AM. NRG will face FUT, and Voca will play 3DMAX.
