Wildcard start Bucharest 1-1 after B8 loss and FaZe forfeit
Wildcard started their campaign in Bucharest with a 0-2 loss against B8. However, there is a silver lining as Wildcard drew FaZe for their round two opponent. With FaZe still competing in Belgrade for another tournament, Wildcard will get a free win in round two.
Though the forfeit's VRS implications are irrelevant for the IEM Cologne Major, Wildcard's massive 15-spot jump on the ranking will help them secure more invites in the future.
The match against B8 began on Wildcard's Nuke pick. Though they lost the pistol, B8 were unfazed as they steamrolled the rest of the half to take an 11-1 lead. After taking map point with a pistol win, B8 did drop six rounds to Wildcard, but the Ukrainians still closed it out 13-7.
B8's pick was Mirage, and it was a more competitive affair. B8 started up 3-0 before a back-and-forth with Wildcard gave the Americans control toward the end of the half, putting B8 down 5-7. B8 won their CT pistol and conversions to take a slight lead. Though Wildcard fought back, B8 were eventually able to close the map 13-10, taking the series 2-0.
Despite the loss, Jadan "HexT" Postma had a solid performance. He had a positive 33/31 K/D and over 87 ADR.

Their round two match would be against FaZe, but Wildcard will get a forfeit win due to the ongoing tournament in Belgrade. As round two has not being played yet, their round three opponent is unknown. However, the match will take place on Monday, April 6th.
