Passion UA fall to DraculaN Season 6 lower bracket after loss to Monte
Passion UA have been sent down to the lower bracket of DraculaN Season 6 following a close 2-0 loss to Monte. The loss marks the bittersweet conclusion of what has thus far been a strong tournament for the international roster, with Passion UA scoring wins over Eternal Fire and FaZe in the first two days of playoffs.
The series started off on Passion UA's pick of Anubis with an early 4-2 lead by Passion UA on their CT-side giving way to a dominant half by Monte, with the European squad winning the last six rounds of the half in a row to secure an 8-4 lead heading into the second half. In the second half, Monte struck the first blow by winning the first three rounds of the half to climb up to an 11-4 lead on their CT-side. This was answered back by four rounds from Passion UA before a team effort from Monte saw them claim match point, with a final early-round 2k from Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen giving Monte the boost to take the map 13-8.
Heading into Dust2, Passion UA started the half off with four rounds in a row on their CT-side before giving way to a dominant T-side from Monte as the team won seven out of the next eight rounds to set the stage for a 7-5 half in their favor. Moving into the second half, Passion UA were able to tie the map up by winning their T-side pistol and the following round. The next four rounds went the way of Monte to see them once again retake the lead, with Passion UA then responding with five of their own to set Dust2 on matchpoint in their favor. Monte were able to avoid a third map by forcing overtime in round 24 and then playing an immaculate overtime to take the map 16-12.
