M80 miss out on playoffs at Roman Imperium Cup VI after shock losses to JiJieHao, Rebels
M80 have missed out on playoffs at Roman Imperium Cup VI after a poor 2-2 record in Group A of the Portuguese event. Over the course of the day M80 had a shocking reversal of fortunes as the team started the day off strong with wins over unranked Nebula In Chaox and 9INE before collapsing against JiJieHao and Rebels in one-sided Bo1 losses.
In the loss against JiJieHao on Dust2 there were early warning signs for M80 as the team trailed 6-1 at one point on their T-side, however there were brief signs of recovery as they bounced back to end the half trailing 5-7. Any illusion of a close game unfortunately fell by the wayside as JiJieHao quickly ran away with the game on their T-side, only giving up a single round in the second half before taking Dust2 13-6.

Against Rebels, M80 got off to a slightly better start as they began their Dust2 CT-side up 3-0, before giving up the next six rounds in a row to the Portuguese squad. M80 would then finally get another round on the board before the two teams traded the remaining two rounds to see M80 trail 5-7 heading into the second half. Like the match against JiJieHao, the second half of Dust2 was an entirely one-sided affair for Rebels as M80 struggled in the post-plants, setting the stage for Rebels to win the map 13-7 to kick M80 out of the tournament.

While the early exit from Roman Imperium Cup V is unlikely to have any significant effect on M80's chances of qualifying to the IEM Cologne Major, it is certainly far from ideal as the team has dropped down three positions in the VRS. This could effect the team in the long run as invites are sent out for events for the second half of the year. M80 will look to make up for lost ground when they head to PGL Bucharest 2026 on April 3rd.
