Passion UA suffer embarrassing loss to new FOKUS roster in Stake Ranked Episode 1 Closed Qualifier
Passion UA have been eliminated from the Stake Ranked Episode 1 Closed Qualifier in the first round following a one-sided 2-0 loss to FOKUS, a new roster that only recently formed in mid-February.
The loss sees Passion UA miss out on a chance to qualify to the $100,000 Stake Ranked Episode 1 LAN that is set to take place in early April while also losing VRS points that the team needs to qualify to the IEM Cologne Major.
The series is honestly not much to write home about as Passion UA struggled to mount an effective opposition to FOKUS. Mirage began with FOKUS claiming a 4-0 lead on their T-side before closing out the half 9-3. This then led into a second half where Passion UA showed some signs of life before conceding the map 13-8.
On Overpass, FOKUS were even more dominant as they won their CT-side 10-2 before a perfect T-side saw them take the map 13-2.
No one on Passion UA had a great day, with Nick "nicx" Lee being the lowest performer on the server with ten kills across two maps and a 0.51 rating.
