M80 grind out win v. NIP, move to 1-1 at ESL Pro League Season 23

M80 took an impressive scalp v. NIP in their 0-1 match at ESL Pro League Season 23.

Josh "JBa" Barutt enjoyed a bounce-back series v. NIP after a rough first match against FUT.

M80's pick was Anubis, and it was clear to see why. They had an outstanding CT side, winning the final nine rounds after losing the first three. M80 kept their momentum into the second half, winning four more rounds to increase their streak to thirteen and win the map 13-3.

M80 started Ancient with four rounds in a row to bring their run up to 17. That was where NIP snapped the streak and fought to a 6-6 half. The second half was a back-and-forth affair, with NIP winning the final four rounds to take Ancient 13-11.

The deciding map was Dust2, where both teams took a cluster of three rounds to begin the map. M80 came out looking better at the half, holding a slight 7-5 edge. They held NIP at arm's length in the second half, never letting the Europeans get closer than three rounds and winning the final map 13-8.

JBa had a match-high 45 frags with a 1.21 rating in the series, logging 20 more frags than he did in their series v. FUT.
