NRG fall to 0-2 at ESL Pro League S23
At ESL Pro League Season 23, NRG have lost to #15th-ranked Heroic and now #17th-ranked Monte. This is NRG's first event with Michael "Grim" Wince, and it's not going as fans had hoped.
Nuke opened with Monte taking the pistol and NRG winning their first buy rounds. At 2-2, Grim defended B ramp with a massive 4K, but the game would remain tied by halftime. NRG would take the second pistol and a 9-6 lead, but Monte's CT side locked in for a map-winning, seven-round streak.
NRG claimed the pistol on their map pick of Anubis, but allowed an ace from Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras to detract from their early momentum. They'd finish the half with four straight wins and the second half pistol, courtesy of a 1v3 clutch from Alexander "br0" Bro. However, Monte's CT side would again prove too strong for NRG to handle as they stole an unlikely ninth round and refused to look back.
