Passion UA and Wildcard to battle for spot at IEM Atlanta

Passion UA and Wildcard have advanced to the IEM Atlanta 2026 Americas Closed Qualifier finals, with the winner of tonight's showdown earning a spot in the IEM Atlanta main event.

Passion UA were amongst four teams directly invited to the Closed Qualifier, while Wildcard were one of four that progressed through the Open Qualifier. Now the last two standing, they will play one more best-of-three to determine who joins NRG and M80 at IEM Atlanta.

In their most recent matchup, Passion UA bested Wildcard 2-1 in the qualifier's upper bracket final. However, Wildcard recovered in the lower bracket against Voca, thus earning themselves a rematch against Passion UA for the coveted Atlanta slot.

So far Passion UA leads the qualifier statistically, with three of their players boasting ratings above 1.28 over maps maps. Interestingly, this performance has been largely overshadowed by recent rumors of Santino "try" Rigal and possibly Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold joining Passion UA, with Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli's spot on the roster clearly in question.

As for Wildcard, they will need their newest addition in Jadan "HexT" Postma to step up from a 0.84-rated outing vs Passion UA in that upper final.
