Liquid eliminated by FUT at IEM Krakow 2026
Liquid were tasked with upstarts FUT at IEM Krakow 2026, who came into the match off of a 2-0 over Legacy.
Liquid, on the other hand, lost in a qualification game to G2, as they were just one map away from securing their spot in the IEM Krakow 2026 top-16 stage.
FUT's pick was Ancient, and it was easy to see why. Liquid won the first three rounds of the CT side, but FUT won eight of the final nine rounds to secure a commanding 8-4 lead at the half. FUT kept their foot on the gas, winning five in a row to put Liquid on the brink after the 13-4 domination on Ancient.
Liquid chose Nuke to try to get themselves back into the series. FUT took advantage of the preferred CT side, sprinting out to an 8-1 lead. Liquid did fight back, though, closing the lead to 8-4 at halftime. A quick succession of rounds in the second half saw Liquid reduce the deficit to 8-7. The second half went back-and-forth for a couple rounds, but it was FUT who closed the map 13-9 to seal Liquid's fate.
Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov was Liquid's demise in Krakow, as the 18-year-old AWPer logged 34 kills to just 19 deaths with a 1.53 rating in the sweep.
With the win v. Liquid, FUT now advance to the IEM Krakow Main Event, while Liquid have been eliminated.
