NRG make sure NA sees Stage 2 of IEM Krakow
In their quest for Stage 2 of IEM Krakow, NRG would face Alexander "br0" Bro's former team in Astralis. The North American squad's shining star, however, would be none other than Joshua "oSee" Ohm, whose return to competition has been widely celebrated by NA fans.
NRG would take the opening pistol on their map pick of Mirage. Astralis' CT side was keeping the half fairly close when oSee scored an impressive AWP 1v2, guiding NRG to six round wins. Astralis came out stronger in the second pistol, but NRG retaliated once rifles were in hand. At 9-9, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella won another 1v2 to pull ahead, but Captain America was unable to replicate these heroics on matchpoint.
Astralis would take the map to overtime, though they still struggled to shut down oSee. It was the AWPers of either team that seemed to step up, with the North American sniper earning 31 frags in the 16-14 victory.
Overpass was far less contested. Each member of NRG finished the map negative, leaving little to note of the team's performance. Thankfully, their Inferno T side would dominate, resulting in a 13-7 win. Although the neck-and-neck action promised by Mirage had fizzled in the maps to follow, NRG surely don't regret ending the match comfortably, and without more overtime excitement, on Inferno.
