Breaking: FiReLEAGUE announces 2027 Buenos Aires CS2 Major

FiReLEAGUE has confirmed that it will host the first Major of 2027 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This is the first CS Major to be held and Argentina and it makes the South American nation the 14th unique country to host a Major.

FiReLEAGUE famously hosted a tournament in a subway last year, as Imperial took down 9z in the final and took home $50,000 in prize money. FiReLEAGUE has previously dabbled in international events, however hosting a Major will be a massive undertaking for the Argentine tournament organizer.

Over the past three years, FiReLEAGUE has hosted two global tournaments, where the largest number of teams in a single event was eight. Starting from the Budapest Major, the Valve-backed events will host 32 teams, eight more than the previous Austin Major.

In a post on X, the South American TO vowed to bring a great Major to the world, saying, "In the land of Messi and Maradona, the passion for Counter-Strike is as powerful as for football."

FiReMAJOR Buenos Aires 2027 is scheduled to begin on May 31st and conclude on June 20th, 2027.
