End of an era (again) at Astralis

Official: Astralis part ways with dev1ce, Magisk; confirm international pivot

The changes come after a poor showing at the StarLadder Budapest Major.

Astrtalis have announced the departures of Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz and Emil "Magisk" Reif from the organization, effective December 31st, marking the ends of the duo's second stint with the Danish organization. dev1ce leaves Astralis after more than three years while Magisk exits the team after a brief three-month stint following Martin "stavn" Lund's move to the bench.

With dev1ce and Magisk leaving Astralis, the organization have confirmed that they will be exploring international options for their lineup in 2026, marking the end of Astralis 10+ year run as Denmark's de facto national team, having exclusively hosted Danish players since 2016.

The fundamental change in Astralis' approach to roster building comes after an extensive title drought for the organization, with it having been 2000+ days since the once-dominant organization has won an S-tier LAN title. With that Astralis' new CEO Jonas Gundersen says the organization has a duty to its fans to try and build the best roster possible, even if it means moving away from an exclusively Danish squad.

Astralis for the moment consists of:

  • Denmark Victor "Staehr" Staehr

  • Denmark Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard

  • Denmark Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen

  • Denmark Casper "ruggah" Due (Coach)

Astralis' first commitment of the new year is the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 Closed Qualifier so they will presumably be aiming to have a new roster in place by then.
