Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #5 Day 8 recap: regain, Phoenix qualify for playoffs
The eighth day of Dust2.us Eagles Masters Series play has concluded with two more teams making the playoffs. On the flipside of the coin, two more have also been eliminated ahead of the final round of regular-season play.
Phoenix and regain have joined Voca and BOSS in the playoffs. Akimbo and Ghost have become the third and fourth teams to lose out and see their season end in the fourth round of matches.
Take Flyte 0-2 Phoenix
Phoenix's map choice was Dust2, and they took an early 5-0 lead on their T side. Take Flyte came right back with six of their own before the half ended in a stalemate at 6-6. Phoenix took control at 10-7 once again and were able to hold off Take Flyte to win 13-11.
Take Flyte chose Overpass, but it was Phoenix who were in control early. They took a 9-3 lead on the CT side to all but put Take Flyte away. Take Flyte strung some rounds together in the second half but it wasn't nearly enough as they fell 13-7 and were swept in the series. Phoenix have booked their spot in the playoffs with the win.
Nazar "H0NeST" Stefinko was the best player on the server for Phoenix as he dropped 46 frags and a 1.35 rating in the win.

LAG 2-0 Akimbo
Akimbo's map pick was Ancient to start the series, but they quickly fell in a hole. LAG took the first six rounds and held an 8-4 lead at halftime. LAG's CT side was just as strong, as they didn't lose a single round to win the map 13-4.
LAG chose Dust2 as their pick, and it was a carbon copy of the first match as they took an 8-4 lead into the interval. Akimob had a stronger second half this time around, as they managed to muster four rounds, but it wasn't enough as LAG took the map 13-8 and the series 2-0. Akimbo are now eliminated with the loss.
Jonathan "djay" Dallal put up 40 kills and a stellar 1.79 rating in the sweep.
