Umar returns to activity with Aether

The hunt for a fifth continues.

On December 1st, Aether announced the addition of former Bad News Bears player Umar "Umar" Qasier to their ranks, seeing the player return to activity while replacing Anthony "ayaneuu" Scheuer within the team's ranks.

Umar returns to Counter-Strike 2 after last playing for the final iteration of the iconic Bad News Bears tag from October to December 2023. Since then, he has largely been inactive, playing a FPL games while largely falling off the radar. He joins a struggling Aether squad that have failed to nail down a roster in recent months, shuffling a number of players while juggling stand-ins to retain their VRS core.

With ayaneuu exiting the squad, the hunts for a fifth continues while the team has been fielding Mike "misha" Yelnikov as a stand-in to hold onto their VRS core. Aether's coach, Chris "Jeebs" DeSantis, told Dust2.us that the team elected to part ways with ayaneuu due to feeling he wasn't a strong fit for the squad and what they are looking to build.

Aether are now:

  • United States Jack "micro" Ryan

  • United States Christian "Sathsea" Birkelbach

  • United States Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich

  • United States Umar "Umar" Qaiser

  • United States Chris "Jeebs" DeSantis (Coach)

Unfortunately for Aether, the addition of Umar did not help them find success in the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #5, as they the team were eliminated with a 0-3 record after losses to Take Flyte, Wanted Goons, and LAG.
