FaZe eliminate 3DMAX, set up do-or-die showdown with Passion UA at StarLadder Budapest Major
FaZe couldn't hold onto their momentum after the upset win over Vitality in the first match of Stage 3. The Europeans fell to Spirit and The MongolZ after their opening win v. Vitality.
FaZe were then faced with 3DMAX, who were coming off a win v. PARIVISION in a 0-2 match. FaZe looked confident in the match, winning the match 2-0 and eliminating the French side.
FaZe's pick was Dust2, where both teams were battling for the upper hand. FaZe were able to grab the 7-5 lead at the end of the first half. They took that momentum into the second period, steadily marching to a solid 13-6 win in the first map.
Inferno was 3DMAX's pick, but FaZe looked to put the French away early. FaZe sprinted out to the lead, but 3DMAX did claim two rounds to close the gap to 8-4 at halftime. FaZe kept it going in the second half, surrendering just a single round to win the map 13-5 and sweep 3DMAX out of the tournament.
FaZe newcomer Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski led the way in the fragging department with 34 frags and a 1.52 rating v. 3DMAX. Helvijs "broky" Saukants has stepped up in the third stage, improving his rating to 1.18 from a middling 1.01 rating in Stage 2.
