
Passion UA down Imperial in elimination match at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025
Passion UA took on Imperial in the 1-2 pool at StarLadder Budapest Stage 3. Imperial have found joy v. North American sides in previous stages of the event, as they eliminated NRG and M80 in Stages 1&2, respectively.
Passion UA came out firing v. Imperial, taking hold of the momentum in either first half and carrying it to two solid victories in the series.
Passion's map pick was Inferno and they started off with a solid T side. Passion UA held a commanding 8-4 lead after the first half. Imperial rallied in the second half, reducing the deficit to 9-8. Passion took control from there, not losing any rounds to win the first map 13-8.
Aggression was the name of the game for Passion UA on Dust2. They started as CT on Imperial's map pick, taking many liberties on their defensive side. Passion UA took another 8-4 lead at the half to put Imperial on the brink. Imperial battled back in the one more, but Passion held on in the second half again, winning the map 13-11 and sweeping the series.
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou and Vladyslav "Kvem" Korol both racked up 40+ frags in the series, with the former putting up an impressive 1.57 rating.
Passion UA are now 2-2 at Stage 3 of the StarLadder Budapest Major and are one best-of-three away from the playoffs in Hungary.
