Passion UA sweep Liquid to survive at StarLadder Budapest Major
Both Passion UA and Liquid have struggled in the third stage after advancing 3-2 in Stage 2. For Liquid, they weren't able to replicate their antics from the previous stage, where they reversed their 0-2 record to 3-2.
Passion UA were able to squeak by Liquid and stay alive for one more best-of-three in Budapest.
Passion picked Train as the first map in the series, but it was Liquid who took the advantage immediately. Liquid took a 9-3 lead going into their T side and looked primed to steal Passion UA's map. Passion rallied and brought the game all the way back, winning the map 13-11.
Liquid's pick was Mirage and it was nearly the mirror image of the first map. Passion UA took a commanding 10-2 lead on the CT side, nearly putting Liquid away with the first-half performance alone. Liquid started the second half with seven rounds in a row to reduce their deficit to one. This was as close as Liquid would get, as Passion UA closed the series with a 13-10 victory.
Vladyslav "Kvem" Korol was Passion's standout man with 37 frags across the two maps.
