M80 defeat Astralis to move to 1-1 at StarLadder Budapest Major Stage 2
M80 lost in their first match of Stage 2 at the Major v. Aurora after the North Americans enjoyed a 3-0 first stage. Astralis lost to NIP in the first game of Stage 2 in their own right.
M80 showed good composure to hold off an Astralis second-half push in the 0-1 pool and put Astralis on the brink of elimination.
M80 started off their T side hot with a 4-0 lead on Ancient. Astralis reduced the lead to one round at 4-3 before M80 took the momentum back again. The North Americans held a solid 8-4 lead at the conclusion of the first half. Both sides traded the first two rounds before Astralis cut the M80 advantage to 9-8. M80 put Astralis on the brink at 12-8. Astralis brought the score back to 12-11, but lost the final round of regulation to drop the match 13-11.
Michael "Swisher" Schmid and Jadan "HexT" Postma led the way in the fragging department for M80 with 19 frags apiece. Victor "Staehr" Staehr had an insane match, going 29-17 with an impressive 1.53 rating in a losing effort.
