
FaZe defeat Passion UA in StarLadder Budapest Major Stage 2 opening match
Passion UA were faced with FaZe in the first match of Stage 2 at the StarLadder Budapest Major. FaZe struggled in the first stage, but managed to squeak through with a 3-2 record.
A back-and-forth match went the way of FaZe, who have started better than they did in the first stage, while handing Passion a 0-1 start to their journey at Budapest.
The map in the best-of-one was Dust2, with both teams going on streaks to try and take control. Both sides were deadlocked at 3-3 halfway through the first half. FaZe managed to come out ahead with a 7-5 lead at the end of their T side. Passion knotted the game up at 7-7 before FaZe took four rounds in a row. Passion cut that lead down to one round, but FaZe were too strong and closed the map 13-10.
FaZe's AWPer Helvijs "broky" Saukants was the standout man against Passion, as he racked up 20 frags with a 1.49 rating to lead the Europeans to a 1-0 start.
Passion UA will now face MIBR in the second round, while FaZe will be playing v. Aurora.
