ESL Challenger League Season 50 NA Cup #4 Day 9 Recap: SkinRave advance to grand finals over Voca
The fourth ECL Cup of ESEA Season 50 is coming to a head, with one grand final spot already determined.
SkinRave took on Voca after both teams arrived in the upper final with a perfect record, albeit all of SkinRave's matches were determined by forfeit to this point.
Voca elected to choose Mirage as the first map of the series. Voca jumped ahead early with a 3-1 lead, but SkinRave answered back with seven of the next eight rounds to take an 8-4 advantage at the half. Their lead only grew, as they stole Voca's pick with a resounding 13-5 win.
SkinRave picked Dust2, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the game. Voca took a dominant 11-1 lead after the first half, SkinRave secured several rounds in the second half, but it was only a consolation as Voca converted the 13-7 win.
Nuke was the deciding map of the series, with Voca starting on the preferred CT side. They took that advantage and turned it into a solid 8-4 lead. SkinRave didn't blink in the face of the deficit, surrendering two rounds in the second half to win the map 13-10 and secure a place in the grand final.
Paytyn "junior" Johnson stood out for the victors, posting 53 frags and a 1.31 rating in the match.
SkinRave will now face the winner of Marsborne v. Voca in the lower final, which is taking place at 09:00PM tonight.
Should SkinRave win in the grand final, they will qualify directly for the final of the ESL Challenger League S50 Finals, thanks to their win in ECL Cup 3.
