100 Thieves confirm impending return to Counter-Strike
The 100 Thieves organization confirmed the start of a "new era" in Counter-Strike today, officially confirming reports that the organization was nearing a return after more than five years.
Less than two weeks ago, our sister website Dust2.dk reported that 100T would sign Håvard "rain" Nygaard to spearhead the new roster project, after the veteran's near decade-long tenure with FaZe ended in September.
The new 100T roster will be sponsored by Roobet, a prominent crypto casino website. Back in September, Roobet signed 100T founder Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag to a sponsorship deal, despite the site not being available to North American players. Just days ago, Roobet added two more major names etched in competitive Call of Duty history to its partner list, in OpTic founder Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez and former pro now streamer Seth "Scump" Abner.
100T last competed in Counter-Strike in 2020 with an Australian roster acquired from Renegades. Just a year prior, they had quickly entered and exited the scene with a Brazilian team, but "roster complications and visa issues" brought that project to a quick end.
Earlier this month, GamerLegion CEO Nicolas "L3gi" Reber stated that while he had had discussions with 100T about a possible transfer, those talks are no longer active.
