Liquid fall to Aurora at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025
Liquid faced off with Aurora in their second match at PGL Bucharest 2025 after their opening win vs. Legacy. Liquid opened the series with a close win on Mirage, but it was Aurora who would complete the reverse sweep and won the series 2-1.
Liquid chose Mirage to begin the series, taking a 7-5 lead on the T side going into the second half. Aurora answered back with a 7-5 second half of their own to level the score at 12-12 and force overtime. After a stalemate in the first overtime period, Liquid was able to pull ahead in the second one to win the map and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Aurora chose Train, and it was clear to see why. The Turks started the map with a 9-3 lead on the less-favored T side, which was then easily converted into a 13-4 win for Aurora.
Dust2 was the deciding map, with Liquid starting on the T side. They took the pistol and converted to take an early 2-0 lead, but that advantage would be short-lived. Aurora answered back with eight of ten rounds to close out the first half and take an 8-4 lead into the final half of the series. This time, Liquid won the pistol and the following three rounds to even up the score at eight. That would be the last round Liquid won, as Aurora won five in a row to take the series 2-1.
Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın starred for Aurora, posting a 63-47 scoreline with an impressive 1.39 rating. Guy "NertZ" Iluz was the standout player for Liquid in the loss, with a 61-53 K/D ratio and a 1.23 rating
Liquid has moved to 1-1, and Aurora is now 2-0 in the Swiss stage.
