Two Polish players banned for cheating as Akros ban wave sweeps across Europe

Six teams have faced sanctions this month alone.

On October 22nd, leading European anti-cheat software Akros Anti-cheat handed out bans to two Polish players competing in the EU tier-three scene — Gabriel "Fugor" Fuc and Bartłomiej "Masi" Łacheta. The duo had been playing for a Polish named Dziuseppe that previously represented the QMISTRY organization while playing a number of European events including ESL Challenger League and various CCT cups.

The bans handed out to the Polish players are the latest in a high-profile ban wave on the Akros Anti-Cheat platform, with a number of Russian and Kazakh players being banned in early October, Swedish duo Anton "Meinz" Evander and Axel "Axelen" Enholm being banned on October 10th, and Danish player Viktor "Skodo" Elleskov being banned on October 20th.

Following the players' bans by Akros, CCT mirrored their bans for their own competitions while also extending six-month bans to Fugor and Masi's teammates.

With this, the following players were banned from CCT:

  • Gabriel "Fugor" Fuc (2 Years/Indefinite)

  • Bartłomiej "Masi" Łacheta (2 Years/Indefinite)

  • Paweł "keis" Kosobudzki (6 Months)

  • Jan "Xydoo" Gajewski (6 Months)

  • Karol "virtuoso" Wrześniewski (6 Months)

While these players weren't setting the world on fire with their play and failed to breach the Top 100 in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), their bans further highlight serious integrity concerns in the European scene as they are now the sixth team to have been caught with cheaters among their ranks this month.
