broky becomes The Guy, leads FaZe to StarLadder Budapest Major semis over MOUZ
Helvijs "broky" Saukants has become The Guy that Eliott "aizyesque" Griffiths asked him to be earlier this year. The Latvian AWPer put on a masterclass against MOUZ today to lead FaZe to the StarLadder Budapest Major semifinals.
The first map of the quarterfinals, Nuke, came down to a nerve-wracking 13-11 as MOUZ and FaZe kept trading blows. However, FaZe won thanks to an inspiring performance from broky (23 kills, +4.47% Round Swing, and 1.54 rating).
MOUZ collapsed after Nuke, and saw FaZe massacre them on Inferno. Finn "karrigan" Andersen's men destroyed on the CT-side (10-2), leaving MOUZ with no room for error. They nearly won a force buy that could put them back on the map, but broky stepped up with a triple to crush their dreams.
The victory saw Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, the only NA player left in the Major, advance to the semifinals. Nobody could have predicted this, as FaZe were nearly eliminated from the Major back in Stage 1.
FaZe will play against the winner of FURIA vs. NAVI tomorrow.
