"FaZe Magic" wins the day as FaZe returns to Major Grand Finals!
In what will likely go down as one of the best series in Major history, FaZe have triumphed over NAVI in a thrilling three-map series to lock in a spot in the Major Grand Finals. With FaZe looking down and out multiple times in the series it took something really special from Finn "karrigan" Andersen and his troops to stay alive and set the stage for what is certain to be an iconic Grand Finals tomorrow as the first Bo5 in Major history!
Overall, the series had more than its fair share of amazing moments, but we have to remember it started off in a fairly dismal fashion for FaZe on Ancient as they initially found themselves on a poor footing after a 13-5 beatdown powered by NAVI rookie Drin "makazze" Shaqiri. This loss put many FaZe fans onto dangerous levels of stress especially as Nuke began with FaZe down 2-8 to a CT-side masterclass from Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen. However, after switching side, the FaZe magic was finally switched on especially for David "frozen" Čerňanský as he played a starring in the comeback, winning a 1v3 on round 18 that set the stage for FaZe's comeback.
This would then set up Helvijs "broky" Saukants to later tie things up at 11-11 with a 1v2 clutch on the AWP before FaZe secured the map 13-11.
With the series tied up, FaZe really came alive on Inferno as karrigan had his chance to call a great game on a map that likely haunts him, with FaZe climbing up to a 9-3 lead on their CT-side while NAVI admittedly at times looked lost. After switching sides, we did see a bit of a rally from NAVI as they began to close the gap, however an incredible 1v3 Deagle round from Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken was what sealed the deal for FaZe on round 20, allowing them to take match point before closing out an absolutely insane series!
