FaZe upset Spirit in ESL Pro League Season 22 quarterfinals
FaZe Clan have secured a top-four finish at ESL Pro League Season 22 in Sweden as they knocked out Spirit in the quarterfinals today, October 10th.
The result is a huge upset, considering both teams' forms in the past month, and the fact that FaZe had to fly Håvard "rain" Nygaard last minute to be able to play the tournament.
But, in true FaZe fashion, they showed up on the playoffs today vs. Spirit. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and co. beat Spirit 13-9 on Nuke, a map that had tons of back-and-forth.
Then, they proceed to destroy Spirit on Mirage, which the Russians picked. As FaZe started to pile rounds, Danil "donk" Kryshkovets didn't hold on to his frustration, even removing the headset in one of the rounds.
FaZe wouldn't have pulled this upset had the trio of Twistzz, David "frozen" Čerňanský, and Helvijs "broky" Saukants not shown up, as you can see below:
FaZe will play again tomorrow, October 11th, against the winner of FURIA vs. Vitality.
