CROSSFIRE Season Two reaches playoffs

The $2,500 online league is down to sixteen teams after three weeks of play.

CROSSFIRE Season 2 has reached playoffs following the conclusion of the regular season this week. With that, the number of teams has been cut in half from 32 to 16 while the event itself advances into a single-elimination Bo3 bracket. The Unranked event kicked off on August 29th and counts notable teams including regain, Wanted Goons, NuTorious, and Aether among its ranks.

The group stage largely played out as expected outside of Akimbo's failure to make it out of the group stage, which happened as a result of two losses to NuTorious and Holly Molly in Group E. Additionally, Aether failed to top Group D after a surprise loss to Brazen, which allowed the latter team to top their group.

You can find the whole Group Stage here.

With playoffs upon us, regain, Aether, Wanted Goons, and NuTorious are all on the same side of the bracket, something that may create some drama as all four teams are favorites for a deep run.

The opening matchups for CROSSFIRE Season 2 playoffs are as follows:

United States regain v. Mavrek United States
United States Redacted Society v. Full House United States
United States Wanted Goons v. 5Frag United States
United States NuTorious v. Aether United States

United States Camy's Kittens v. mouse United States
United States Factor v. Vireo.pro United States
United States Brazen v. Holly Molly United States
United States Neon Lights v. Afterimage United States

Playoffs will kick off tomorrow on September 21st.
