SK tried to sign autimatic before Stewie2K and tarik, says TACO
Two-time Major champion Epitácio "TACO" de Melo said during one of the FISSURE Playground 2 co-streams this week that Jake "Stewie2K" and Tarik "tarik" Celik were the "seventh option" for SK, and that the team tried to recruit Timothy "autimatic" Ta before.
This whole conversation started with TACO saying that Stewie2K and tarik weren't as good as Danil "molodoy" Golubenko. He was commenting on FURIA vs. paiN alongside the Brazilian caster Bernardo "BiDa" Moura.
Then, TACO revealed that SK looked at autimatic, Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson, and Richard "shox" Papillon before signing Stewie2K and tarik. According to TACO, SK had about 10 players in mind when they were looking to assemble their international team.
On top of these players, SK famously almost signed Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Egor "flamie" Vasilyev in March 2018, but the move never materialized.
In the week that followed, SK signed Stewie2K to replace TACO, and tarik would join in July, when the team had already left SK to revive the MIBR tag under the Immortals' administration.
While autimatic remained in Cloud9, Stewie2K and tarik played for MIBR until the end of 2018.
