Ukrainian org releases trio after they failed matchfixing polygraph test
Ukrainian organization ALGO terminated the contracts of Yuri "hodix" Khodak, Ivan "crickeyyy" Havrylov, and Dmytro "jackast" Pashchenko last Friday, September 12th. The players allegedly cheated and match-fixed, according to an investigation conducted by ALGO, which went as far as submitting them to polygraph testing.
ALGO's staff had suspicions that the players in question committed foul play, which led to the investigation. hodix admitted to taking part in match-fixing, and his polygraph results confirmed his involvement, ALGO said.
As for crickeyyy and jackast, their polygraph test showed that they engaged in cheating and match-fixing. On top of that, ALGO said that jackast "deliberately underperformed in order to lose official matches."
Besides parting ways with the players, ALGO announced it will appeal to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) to "ensure fair punishment to the players."
Such actions directly contradict the values and principles of ALGO. We stand for honesty, transparency, and competitive integrity, and we believe that esports must be built on these foundations.
It's curious, to say the least, that ALGO submitted the players to polygraph tests during the investigation, as their effectiveness has been dismissed by science over the years.
Regardless, ALGO told Dust2.us' Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore that the polygraph was only "one of the many [methods]" they used during the investigation.
ALGO's roster is down to:
-
Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas -
Christian "Griller"Vejlgaard Skou Sørensen -
Oleksandr "Shara" Hordieyev (Coach)
