malbsMd makes BLAST Open London finals with G2
G2 qualified for the BLAST Open London quarterfinals last night, September 1st, over Spirit. This is the first time that G2 have made playoffs since adding Matúš "MATYS" Šimko and Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia in the off-season, and they couldn't have made it without Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa.
The series kicked off on Mirage, but G2 fumbled their map pick as a result of Danil "donk" Kryshkovets' heroics in the second half, which netted him a 111.3 ADR and +11.74% Round Swing.
Spirit nearly eliminated G2 on Dust2, as they came back on the CT-side, winning nearly eight rounds in a row. But G2 forced overtime and ended up forcing the decider.
That seemingly killed the mood on the Spirit camp as they looked visibly disjointed and tilted on Ancient after G2 won the first rounds. The Russian team couldn't stop G2's T-side, and malbsMd simply rushed Mid and found entries left and right. The Guatemalan finished the map with 19 kills and 122.6 ADR.
If it wasn't for Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia finding a multi-kill, Spirit would have lost their CT-side by 12-0, and consequently the series by 13-0.

The BLAST Open London LAN finals begin this Friday, September 5th.
M80 will face MOUZ in the first quarterfinal on 09:30AM, and G2 will play FaZe on 12:30PM. The winner of MOUZ vs. M80 will play Vitality next, while the FURIA/G2 winner will face FURIA.
