Ancient visual upgrades, night-time maps, new Armory skin arrive in August 14th CS2 update

The latest CS2 update has implemented visual upgrades and night-time modes to both Ancient and Shoots, alongside a handful of other changes and updates.

The new night-time version of Ancient is only playable through matchmaking in Casual and Deathmatch, while night-time Shoots is playable in Arms Race. The "ancient materials" on both maps have been "refreshed" to use the latest CS2 shaders, giving the textures and surfaces an upgraded look.

A couple of new items have also been added: The Deluge Music Kit Box, featuring music kits from Adam Beyer, Ghost, HEALTH, James and the Cold Gun, Jonathan Young, Juelz, Killer Mike, PVRIS, Selective Response, and Tigercub. Also a limited time M4A1-S skin, Solitude, is now available in the Armory.

The full release notes also include a handful of inspect and deploy animation improvements, as well as "rendering performance improvements across most maps." However, today's update also removed the ability to change fps_max when connected to a server, which might inconvenience a number of players.
