NiKo: "I will 100% become an IGL [in the future]"
Falcons' superstar Nikola "NiKo" Kovač answered some questions from fans in one of his latest live streams and revealed that he wants to become an IGL in the future.
"I will 100% become an IGL," NiKo answered the fan.
NiKo has taken on the captaincy in both FaZe and G2, his previous teams, but only momentarily. He most notably led G2 to win IEM Dallas 2024, while Jake "Stewie2K" Yip was standing in for Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen.
Fans thought that he'd take the IGL role permanently after winning that tournament, but NiKo went back to his star role and later joined Falcons for the 2025 season.
During the same live stream, NiKo also said that he prefers to be on top of his game for longer than just having a Major trophy and fading away.
I hope [that I win a Major]. But for me, it's much more important that I'm... I wouldn't like to win a Major now and just disappear and be like shit for the rest of my career. I would rather be always good and compete for the rest of the titles rather than just winning a Major and disappear, to be honest.
I don't know how to explain, but I feel like Major lost its prestige in a way. Obviously, I would love to win a Major. It's my dream and a goal, but for me, it's much more about consistency in CS. This is hurting me much more. These past two-three months have been hurting me much more than just losing one Major. I just hate losing.
NiKo will have a chance to redeem himself soon, as Falcons are slated to play in the Esports World Cup 2025 next week.
