Complexity bomb out of IEM Cologne 2025
Complexity have been eliminated from IEM Cologne 2025 following a 2-1 defeat to TYLOO on July 24th. The two teams met in the first lower bracket match of Stage One, and the Chinese squad reverse-swept COL to stay alive in the tournament.
Complexity picked Overpass this time around, and it paid off, as they were able to beat TYLOO by 13-11 and start the series ahead.
However, TYLOO completely outclassed Complexity on Inferno thanks to an early 7-1 lead on T-side. COL managed to salvage their half at the end, but TYLOO also played better as CTs in the second half.
The series then moved on to Ancient, and Complexity let the victory run away disappointingly. They were leading by 10-5 on the T-side, but couldn't clinch the win. In the last round, TYLOO's superstar Yi "JamYoung" Yang took matters into his own hands and quickly put his side in a 5v3 scenario that completely killed COL's chances to force OT.
After the series was over, Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli said that Complexity need to make the most of their opportunities in the future.
"We need to get some more practice in. Then we need to grab the next opportunities we have. We don't have that many tournaments anymore, I guess we're falling a bit down in the rankings. We need to take every opportunity we will have," hallzerk said.
Complexity will have to recover fast as they are set to compete in BLAST Bounty Season 2, which kicks off on August 5th.
