GamerLegion put Complexity on brink of elimination at IEM Cologne 2025
GamerLegion took down Complexity in the opening match of IEM Cologne 2025 Stage One this Wednesday, July 25th, in just two maps. The result sees Complexity fall into the lower bracket, meaning they'll need back-to-back wins to reach Stage Two, where heavy-hitters like Vitality, Spirit, and The MongolZ await.
Inferno:
Complexity 3-13 GamerLegion
Although Complexity picked Inferno, it was GamerLegion who dictated the game. COL never really got the ball rolling, especially because GamerLegion won lots of clutches. Sebastian "Tauson" Tauson Lindelof, for example, won three clutches in just the first half.
This meant that Complexity never had any momentum going on the T-side, and GamerLegion won all the first four rounds on the CT-side to close out the game really fast.
Nuke:
Complexity 10-13 GamerLegion
Complexity put up a much better fight on Nuke, despite it being one of their worst maps in the past three months. It was anyone's game heading to the second half, but GamerLegion had great reads on CT-side and nearly broke Complexity's economy toward the end of the game to run away with the victory.
Firepower-wise, it was a weak performance from Complexity today, even if we disregard Inferno, as Johnny "JT" Theodosiou was the only one finding frags on Nuke. As a result of it, all COL players finished the series on the red.
Complexity will have to do much better tomorrow as they'll face TYLOO, who have just won FISSURE Playground 1 last weekend, to stay alive in IEM Cologne.
