American casting duo get the call up for IEM Cologne

ESL has announced the official on-air talent team for IEM Cologne, which starts July 23rd and will feature an American casting duo getting a big moment to shine in the Cathedral of Counter-Strike.

In addition to some of the familiar names in commentary, American casters Garret "Phy" Schier and Cole "xner" McHenry have made the talent list. The two will be casting on the B stream.

This will be one of the biggest events that either of the two have casted, though they've been casting some pretty prolific events this year. In 2025, the duo has worked the BLAST.tv Austin Major qualifiers as well as IEM Dallas. On X, Phy said that "commentating the most prestigious event in Counter-Strike...is an honor," while xner said that it is "hard to put into words how massive this opportunity is."
