Liquid appoint former NAVI analyst as head coach
Viktor "flashie" Tamás Bea is Liquid's new head coach, the organization announced this Wednesday, July 9th. The Hungarian had been working as an analyst for Natus Vincere since August 2023, and previously coached Budapest Five, CLG RED, and FlyQuest RED.
This change sees Liquid add a new head coach since the organization parted ways with Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg in March. The team's data analyst, Jay "DeMars DeRover" Li, coached them during PGL Bucharest, IEM Melbourne, IEM Dallas, and the BLAST.TV Austin Major, and now he will return to his original role.
flashie most notably helped NAVI to win the PGL Copenhagen Major, Esports World Club, and ESL Pro League Season 20 in 2024. He was a part of the team ever since NAVI transitioned to an international roster.
He also played CS:GO for multiple teams over the past decade, but never managed to make it into the big leagues. Now, he'll have the opportunity to do so at Liquid.
flashie's appointment comes at a time when Liquid are struggling. The team played four events with Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and made playoffs just once, at IEM Melbourne. After that, they suffered early eliminations at both IEM Dallas and the Austin Major.
Many people imagined that Keith "NAF" Markovic would leave the team, but Liquid's General Manager Steve "jokasteve" Perino confirmed that the organization will retain their roster for the second half of the season.
Liquid are:
-
Keith "NAF" Markovic
-
Russel " Twistzz" Van Dulken
-
Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak
-
Guy "NertZ" Iluz
-
Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek
-
Viktor "flashie" Tamás Bea (Coach)
