Still just a memory

Cloud9 Jack denies rumor of yet another return to Counter-Strike

Not this time.

Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne says that the latest rumor about the organization's return to Counter-Strike is not true.

The claim originally claim from French Counter-Strike commentator, insider, and streamer Sébastien "KRL" Perez, and circulated by news site La Source. During one of their streams, KRL claimed that Cloud9 was reportedly close to signing the NAVI Junior roster, though adding that Drin "makazze" Shaqiri was also drawing interest from other groups, including the NAVI main roster.

Spirit scout and fellow CS2 insider Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov was the first to cast doubt on the claims, saying that that Spirit's alleged plan to make two changes including adding Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy was "not even close." A separate post circulating the rumors eventually made its way to the official Cloud9 subreddit, leading C9 Jack to comment that it "is a false rumor."

Cloud9 exited Counter-Strike officially this past February after selling off the last of its players to the likes of G2, Virtus.pro, and BetBoom Team. The aforementioned Perfecto was coincidentally the last player still under contract at Cloud9 before he was released this past April.
