mzinho: "If we win the whole Major Mongolia will go crazy"

Yesterday The MongolZ made Counter-Strike history by taking down FaZe in an exhilarating series to become the first Asian team to ever lock in a semifinals berth at a Major. Following this historic win, Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore spoke to Ayush "mzinho" Batbold about the win, the American crowd, and what it would mean to win a Major for Mongolia.

The crowd was very obviously backing FaZe in that match, how did your team react to having a hostile crowd up against you in that series?

We just focused on the game on the server. We didn't focus on the crowd and we're just trying to do our best on the server to show who was the better team. We showed it and the crowd wasn't booing us then.

The crowd not supporting The MongolZ is unusual as the American crowd normally loves The MongolZ. Are you surprised by how many fans you have in America and how famous you are here?

I've seen many comments on Twitter that have been supporting us and there were a lot of people with MongolZ jerseys in the US, that means a lot. Them cheering for us means a lot to us.

Why do you think so many Americans are fans of The MongolZ?

I don't know but I saw posts saying we were the underdogs of history or something like that and maybe because we are underdogs they like us.

On paper MongolZ have the advantage against paiN. That win would lock you into the finals and put the team one win away from winning the Major. What would that mean for you and Mongolia to win a Major?

First of all you can see that anything can happen on stage like MOUZ beating Spirit, that's a 50/50 thing I think, and paiN beating a 3-0 FURIA. Anything can happen but if we win the whole Major the whole nation will go crazy.
