BLAST warn of in-person API scam at Moody Center

The dark side of fun and games.

Amidst the fun and excitement of NA's first Major in seven years, unscrupulous individuals are looking to take advantage of unsuspecting fans with a nasty scam. As first reported across fan discords, BLAST have confirmed that individuals are attempting to impersonate BLAST employees and trick fans into scanning QR codes with the likely aim of scamming fans out of their CS2 skins or other personal data.

The notice reads:

WARNING: There have been reports of people at the @MoodyCenterATX pretending to be BLAST employees and asking people to scan a QR code that is linked to an API scam.

BLAST employees will not ask you to scan a QR code, if you are unsure if someone is a BLAST employee, please speak to security or the event center.

Be safe out there and make sure to report any suspicious activity to event staff or security.
