No NA teams in IEM Dallas 2025 playoffs: Aurora eliminate Liquid
Liquid are out of IEM Dallas 2025 after losing to Aurora this Wednesday, May 21st. They needed a win to move on to the final round of the lower bracket, but the all-Turkish team came out on top after just two maps played.
As a result of this loss, the North American fans will have no NA teams to cheer for in the playoffs as NRG crashed out of the event yesterday after a loss to Aurora too.
Aurora kicked off the series with a comfortable 13-7 victory on Inferno, which Liquid picked. The Turks put up a nearly flawless CT-side in the first half as Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın and Samet "jottAAA" Köklü grabbed 15 kills each. This gave them much room to work with on their T side, and they closed out the game pretty fast.
It looked like Aurora would breeze past Liquid on Dust2, but Liquid made things more interesting.
H, they lost a crucial round to mostly pistols toward the end of their CT side, which killed their economy, to complete the comeback. The final round was down to a 2v2, and Aurora prevailed in the after-plant on the B site.
While Aurora will play the winner of HEROIC vs. FaZe for a spot in the playoffs later today, Liquid will pack things and start preparing for the BLAST.tv Austin Major in June.
