dumau says Legacy will almost certainly attend the BLAST.tv Austin Major instead of BESTIA
Legacy are out of IEM Dallas 2025 following back-to-back defeats to Vitality and 3DMAX. However, the Brazilians have no reason to feel sad as there's a "big chance" they'll replace BESTIA at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, Legacy's rifler Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer told Dust2.us after being given the green light by Legacy manager Américo Verde.
BESTIA beat Legacy in the South American Major Regional Qualifier (MRQ) last month, but the Argentinian team are struggling to secure visas for their players Martín "tomaszin" Corna and Luciano "luchov" Herrera. With the Major starting on June 3rd, it has become nearly impossible for BESTIA to make it in time.
Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore asked dumau whether Valve or BLAST reached out to Legacy to make sure they're able to play at the Austin Major in case BESTIA misses it, and dumau confirmed they're ready to play.
Yes, there's a big chance that it will happen. I mean, unfortunately, we couldn't win [at the SA MRQ]. We didn't play our best game and it was very frustrating because, to be honest, we felt we could do it. Like, [if we played] 10 times, we could win nine at least.
We had the confidence, we had everything, but we didn't play well [...] Now we have the chance to play again, and yeah, we'll try to prove that we deserve more, you know?
This situation with BESTIA obviously forced Legacy to scrap their plans as they were ready to go on a break, but now they have to prepare for the Major.
With that in mind, Mnmzzz asked dumau what the plan is for Legacy, and dumau revealed that they will stay in the U.S. instead of coming back to Brazil.
We'll stay here in North America. The Major is really soon and we prepare ourselves, we stay here, and we just enjoy the moment. But we really want to to be there and prove that we deserve to be there.
We have more things to improve. Unfortunately, we couldn't win today [versus 3DMAX], and yesterday we played against Vitality. They played better than us.
While the interview focused on this fact, there is also a great discussion of Legacy's current form and their time in NA this year, among other topics. You can watch our full interview with dumau below.
