M80 fall to 0-2 record at PGL Astana 2025 after close loss to Virtus.pro
M80 have continued to struggle in their run at PGL Astana 2025, with the team facing a 2-1 loss to Virtus.pro earlier today. With the loss to the Russian squad, M80 now fall to a 0-2 record in the Swiss Stage of the Kazakhstani tournament and will need to rally in their next series or bow out in dismal fashion at their first international LAN in two months.
The series against VP initially started on a strong footing for M80 as they started their map pick, Ancient, by winning their T-side 8-4 before closing out the map 13-9 without serious trouble. However, the series began to slide away from M80 as they failed to close it out on Mirage, VP's pick, as the Russians secured a 9-3 T-side before staving off a minor comeback from M80 to win the map 13-8.
With the series tied up, Virtus.pro kicked off Inferno in an utterly dominant fashion by winning their CT-side 10-2, giving the squad an insurmountable lead despite the best efforts of M80 to mount a comeback, ultimately leading to VP taking the map 13-10 and the series 2-1.
