BLAST expands to North America, will open an office in New York City

One of the biggest CS2 tournament organizers is coming to America.

BLAST will open its first U.S. office in New York City, the tournament organizer announced on May 8th. This expansion, according to BLAST, shows its commitment to growing the esports ecosystem across the U.S.

What may explain this expansion is the fact that there's over $1.3 billion in U.S. esports market value, according to Statista.

BLAST also mentioned that the U.S. will host more "tier-one esports arena events" this year than any other country, including tournaments ran by BLAST itself, such as the BLAST.tv Austin Major, the Fortnite Champion Series Pro-Am Los Angeles, and the Rocket League Championship Series Raleigh Major.

The New York City office will serve as the NA hub for BLAST, helping them to deliver more esports events across the region, and making new partnerships with U.S.-based brands. BLAST's Chief Business Office, Leo Matlock, will relocate from Copenhagen to New York City to lead the new office.

"We’ve been deeply committed to the growth of esports in the U.S. for six years - hosting some of our most iconic live events here since 2019," Mr. Matlock said in an official statement.

"Establishing a permanent hub here is a natural next step and also a powerful indicator of our long-term investment in the market. We have some incredible live events coming up across North America this year and are excited to continue to advocate this unmatched fandom and to work with national and local partners and brands, creating a positive impact everywhere we are. This move further adds to our global expansion efforts in 2025, with offices opening in India and the U.S. this year."

BLAST currently has offices in Copenhagen, London, Berlin, and is set to launch an office in India as well.
