Liquid v. FaZe headlines the first round of IEM Dallas 2025
The groups and initial matchups for IEM Dallas 2025 have been announced this Wednesday, May 7th. Undoubtedly, the most exciting match of the first round is Liquid v. FaZe as the latter will play their first match with Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev.
The only other match that concerns the NA audience will be NRG v. Falcons. While FaZe v. Liquid is somewhat unpredictable, it'll be very hard for NRG to outplay Falcons as the Saudi-backed team have won PGL Bucharest and finished runners-up at IEM Melbourne and BLAST Rivals Season 1 over the past 30 days.
IEM Dallas has split the 16 teams attending the tournament into two groups of eight teams each. The group stage will use the classic double-elimination format, and the top three teams from each group will make the playoffs, which will be a single-elimination bracket.
These are the opening matches of IEM Dallas, which kicks off on May 19th.
