Think he'll look good in red?

FaZe reunites s1mple and EliGE for IEM Dallas and Austin Major

Two stars that nearly won a Major together on Liquid reunite after almost a decade.

In the early hours of Monday, May 5th, FaZe made a shocking announcement, signing Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev on loan to replace benched AWPer Helvijs "broky" Saukants. The three-time HLTV Player of the Year will compete for FaZe at both IEM Dallas and the Austin Major.

The move sees s1mple, arguably the greatest CS:GO player of all-time, reunite with former Liquid teammate Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski after almost nine years. The two ran together on Liquid in 2016, nearly winning a Major on two separate occasions, before each flourishing into stars on their own.

While s1mple is held in high regard in the CS:GO history books, his career since CS2 released hasn't come close to that same level. He took nearly a year off before joining Falcons on loan in the final months of 2024, falling short of qualifying for the Major before returning to the NAVI bench for another six months.

Both EliGE and s1mple are looking to secure some better results in Texas over the next few months. As s1mple's NAVI contract comes closer to an end, he will be looking ahead to full-time offers, and EliGE's early results with FaZe have not lived up to high expectations.

FaZe also signed Felipe "skullz" Medeiros as a sub for IEM Dallas, as Håvard "rain" Nygaard may be unavailable for "personal reasons."

FaZe's current roster consists of:

  • Håvard "rain" Nygaard

  • Denmark Finn "karrigan" Andersen

  • David "frozen" Čerňanský

  • United States Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski

  • Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev

  • Brazil Felipe "skullz" Medeiros (Potential sub for IEM Dallas)

  • Filip "NEO" Kubski (Coach)
