Wildcard Academy part ways with IGL

The organization's youth setup is down to just four players at the moment.

Former Wildcard Academy in-game leader Michal "T4gg3D" Vrzal has departed the North American organization and retired from competition last week, April 24th.

The Slokav IGL spent just about three months in Wildcard Academy after joining them from Sampi and competed in a slew of tier-three tournaments across Europe with little to almost no success, aside from winning the $3,000 tournament Urban Contenders #4 in March.

"This definitely wasn't an easy decision by any means, but I've had several reasons for deciding this way, and I truly believe this is the way forward for me," T4gg3D said about leaving Wildcard Academy and retiring.

"I'll always reflect on my CS career in a good way, and even though I didn't achieve the absolute top, I've reached heights I never realistically thought I would. In the end, it's not about the destination, but about the journey that leads there."

Wildcard Academy has yet to announce who will replace T4gg3D, but they promised a new update "soon."

This is Wildcard Academy's lineup following T4gg3D's departure:

  • Sweden Leo "Wonder" Wänlund

  • Sebastian "fr3nd" Kuśmierz

  • Tiago "TMKj" Martins

  • Denmark Simon "sSen" Iversen

  • Łukasz "splawik" Jahns (Coach)
