Vitality breeze past Wildcard in BLAST Rivals opener to keep win streak going
Vitality took down Wildcard in the opening round of BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 1 this Wednesday, April 30th.
With this win, Vitality have secured their 22nd consecutive victory and now are just one victory away from tying Liquid's record in 2019, the year that the NA team won the Intel Grand Slam.
Inferno: 
Vitality 13-7 Wildcard 
If Wildcard had any chance of winning this series, it heavily relied on getting a positive result on Inferno, their map pick.
However, Vitality displayed a CT side masterclass in the first half (9-3) and essentially crushed Wildcard's chances. There was a bit of back-and-forth action in the second half, but Vitality closed it out pretty fast thanks to William "mezii" Merriman grabbing 13 kills in just eight rounds.
Dust2: Vitality 13-6 Wildcard
CS2 fans saw more of the same on Dust2, but this time, Vitality enjoyed a flying 7-0 lead on the T side and once again won the first half by 9-3.
Even though Wildcard won the second pistol, Vitality forced in the next round and broke Wildcard's economy. They ended up winning by 13-6 and mezii was once again the star of the show.

Vitality will play MOUZ tomorrow, and the winner will advance directly to the semifinals of BLAST Rivals. The loser, on the other hand, will advance to the quarterfinals.
As for Wildcard, they must beat paiN tomorrow, 09:00AM to avoid an early elimination and qualify for the quarterfinals.
