Perfect World announces details for CAC 2025
Perfect World has announced more details for the CS Asia Championships 2025, slated to take place in October. Initially, the event was scheduled to run from October 1st to the 13th, which would have directly clashed with EPL S22. However, it will now start on the 14th and end on the 19th.
The tournament's prize pool has also increased from the 2023 version of the competition, from $500,000 to $1,000,000. 40% of the prize pool will be allocated for the players, while the lion's share will be distributed to the organizations.
The event will host 16 teams in total, with ten of them being invited and the remaining six coming from regional qualifiers in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. All qualifiers, except the Asian one, will be held entirely online. The closed qualifier in Asia will be on LAN in Shanghai. The qualifiers will take place in July and August.
The teams will be split into two groups of eight with a double-elimination format in the group stage, running from October 14th to 16th. The top finisher in either group will advance directly to the semifinals, while second and third will be placed in the quarters. The playoffs will start on the 17th and end on the 19th, and will be single elimination with a third-place decider.
CAC 2025 will be held in Shanghai, China, in the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, the same venue that hosted the Perfect World Shanghai Major playoffs.
