910 fuels The MongolZ to eliminate Liquid from IEM Melbourne 2025
The MongolZ have advanced to the IEM Melbourne 2025 semifinals over Liquid this Friday, April 25th. Liquid started the series ahead, but The MongolZ reverse-swept them thanks to an inspiring performance from their AWPer Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch on Inferno.
Anubis:
Liquid 13-5 The MongolZ
Liquid again showed that they're ready to play Anubis under Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek's calls as they absolutely demolished The MongolZ on the CT-side, nonetheless. They grabbed nine points on the defense, which made the second half all too easy, considering Anubis is the most T-sided map of the rotation.
While siuhy didn't get too many frags, all four other Liquid players got at least 15 each.
Ancient:
The MongolZ 13-6 Liquid
Liquid's performance on Ancient was the exact opposite of what we saw on Anubis, as they lost the map because of a very lackluster CT-side in the second half.
The only round they won as CTs was the pistol round, and The MongolZ comfortably won the other rounds.
Inferno:
The MongolZ 13-10 Liquid
After two one-sided maps, the teams left the best for Inferno and put on a true show. The MongolZ narrowly won the first half thanks to 910 finding many frags with the AWP on the CT-side.
The second half was full of back-and-forth action and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken did his best to give Liquid a chance to win as he won two massive rounds for them in the end.
However, 910 was unstoppable on the other side and pushed The MongolZ over the line as he dropped a 30-bomb.
Though Liquid will feel like they could have won the series and reached the semis, they should be happy with their performance in IEM Melbourne. They played much better on Australian soil in comparison to siuhy's debut at PGL Bucharest 2025. Liquid will now rest and prepare for IEM Dallas, which kicks off on May 19th.
